End days of Summer

Summer has been just flying by. I think this is my first year in a long time to really enjoy the summer as a family. No pregnancy, no building houses, no huge commitments, just summer fun. We have had a great time and all of a sudden it seems like it is almost over. We, like everyone else, now seem to be cramming every last thing in before school starts. Here are some of our highlights (at least the ones that made it to the camera).
Kadie "I am big enough, see" Really wanting to go on the bumper cars with Jack at Oaks Park for Brads company picnic. Not quite there yet.

Kadie's first official swimming lessons. She loved it but honestly learned more in the family swim after each lesson. It was fun each day to see her get a little braver.
And then, the day after swim lessons were over, she got it! She realized she could swim underwater. I put some goggles on her and once she could open her eyes, she was an instant swimmer. It is so exciting when they figure that piece out, it is a turning point in their childhood. Now she can swim! And she is fearless, doing flips and spins and swimming through our legs, it is so fun to see.

Issie first day with Cheerios! She loves real food. It is a bit messier and a lot longer at the table but she is just loving feeding herself. Such a big girl.

Jack in his newly organized room. I have been really letting go of my need to control his space, but everyone has a breaking point and the new school year seemed like a great a time to totally clean out the entire room and get a fresh start. It was an all day event but with great success in the end. Now with a little school shopping we will be ready for school to start.

Brad's new toy and a toy for the family. Brad has been wanting a pool table or ping pong table for a while. This summer he saved up and got the 3 in 1 (air hockey, pool and ping pong) and it is a hit. Jack and Kadie love the air hockey but it is fun for Jack to learn pool too.

Kadie starts soccer! I am not a pink person so the amount of pink that she wanted for soccer seemed a big obnoxious to me but looking at this picture, I see how sweet it is for her. She so loves being a girl but wants to be just like her brother. So here comes the fall, soccer, school and cooler weather.
