Puppies for Lucy??

Well that time has come again for our little Lucy Lu. She is in heat. I dread this time of year (twice a year actually). Managing the diaper, keeping her on a leash and watching her every move so she does not escape to slut around the neighborhood. Well this time may be a little different. We are going to try to breed her with a sweet little Cavalier named Tucker. I have stressed and worried and hoped that it would work out and it would be the right thing to do. She is very little for her breed and it can be hard. But we feel it will all work out so we are moving forward and we will see how it goes. I have done this before with Kenya and Colby (my labs) but it is much easier with bigger dogs and when you own them both.

Lucy has had one get acquainted date with Tucker. And has a romantic weekend away with him set up for next weekend (apparently when she is supposed to be fertile). Sorry if this is too much information but that is usually how I operate. Then 63 days later we should have some puppies. Likely due the first week of October and ready for homes right around Thanksgiving time. I know I am getting a bit ahead of myself but the timing does seem to be working out perfectly. We will see what happens and of course I will keep you all posted.

San Francsico

I am finally getting around to posting some pictures from our trip to San Francisco. One of our dear friends Erik got married on the fourth of July in San Francisco and we drove the family down to join them. Erik was in our wedding and Brad has known him for years since his time in California and I met him and instantly loved him at our wedding. He is the last of our single friends to wed and we are so very happy for him. We had a wonderful trip down to the bay area. Only an 11 hour drive which seems like nothing compared to driving to LA or Albuquerque. The kids are good travelers and even Issie did well, praise God, since she can really let us know when she is not happy with the plan. Not only did we get to go to a beautiful wedding but we also got to see some of Brads friends that we miss so much. Here are this kids, it is rare that I get a picture with them all together, which I totally love since I love to see their sizes beside each other. Jack seems so big, but they are all growing too fast it seems.

The wedding took place at Stanford University (Erik's Alma mater) in their amazing cathedral, it was unbelievable. I did my best to capture it but all I had was my iPhone since our camera broke right before our trip. Ugh.
It was a beautiful sunny day and the kids had a great time running around and exploring everything. I tried to get a picture of them together at the wedding but there was no hope with Issie so I just tried to get some snapshots here and there.

This is what Issie looked like the entire weekend, we caved and let her have her paci all weekend (we are paying for that now). She also carried her blankies all over the place, through the dirt, on the floor at the church under the pews and across the dance floor. Need less to say, they were disgusting by the end of the weekend. But everyone thought she was cute, and she was pretty content so you do what you have to do. I think she must have been the only "baby" there since the photographers seemed to be constantly taking her picture. Poor Erik and Alisa will have hundreds of wedding pictures of our baby.

Kadie was super sweet at the wedding. She met Alisa (the bride) at the rehearsal but once she saw her in her wedding gown she was totally in awe! I think she must have thought she was Belle from Beauty and the Beast. She just stared and followed her around. We ran into her in the bathroom and she said hi to Kadie and Kadie grabbed my hand and said with the most excitement "She said Hi to me, mommy". It was too much. She was totally in love with her. It was precious.

Sadly this is the only picture we got of Erik and Alisa. They were a gorgeous couple and we are so excited for them. One of the most special things that happened this weekend is that Jack asked Brad to teach him how to dance. So in the hotel room before the wedding Brad had the iPod rocking and he taught Jack to waltz, to two step, a little bit of swing dancing and then how to just "rock out". It was so sweet. Jack was totally serious and into it and it really paid off. We all danced for a long time, and Jack is quite the little dancer. Kadie loved it too and we ended up taking turns dancing with Issie. It was so much fun. Issie was such a trouper. I will never forget that time with my family dancing with joy, such good memories.

Our friends Patrick and Jen. Patrick was also in our wedding and they got married the summer after us. It was so great to see them and hear what God is doing in their lives. We wish they would move up here but it is not likely since they just bought a new house with a POOL, I am a bit jealous but I will get over it.

I love this random picture of Kadie smelling the flowers. It reminds me of Alice in Wonderland or something. Our little princess with the pink sparkly shoes.
